Default wiring diagram for 85 w/ std ac

I have a problem with the ac blower circuit in my 85 (std ac not automatic climate control)

The blower selector would turn the fan on in the lower speeds only. In diagnosing the trouble I removed the switch and found one contact had burned up (the contact had melted into the plastic of the harness connection and pulled away from the switch with the harness).

The question I have is the contact that burned is on the blue wire which the less than perfect wiring diagram I have says it is the medium speed and that high speed should be the orange wire. Jumping from the power to the orange contact does nothing while jumping to the others result in lower speeds.

When I found what I think is the high blower relay (located directly below the blower motor) the wiring colors don't match my diagram's colors - but then neither do the wires to the resistor assembly or the one to the fan itself (is black with a red stripe not purple as shown in my diagram).

I know a while back I found a post here that had a diagram that looked more accurate but cannot find it again>

This is a wiring diagram for an 86, should be similar. Blue wire is medium speed through the blower resisitor. High speed wire just energizes high speed relay which handles the full load. Only 3 things cause melted connection. Poor ground or poor connection, and high amp draw from blower.
