Just bought an 04 vette, my first, manual trans. I have a bearing noise from first to second, like a dry bearing spinning. Also when I get on it for a short time and stop say from red light to store, when I stop it sounds like bearing falling apart! I have a bumper to bumper warranty but the local dealer says that it is normal and the 04 manual trans. is noisy. Is he BS'n me or telling me the truth.

I have an 03 that makes similar sounds (rattling sound, like ball bearings, in rear end). I've heard the same story that it is normal. I've not had any mechanical problems and I've tracked it several times. Just turn up the tunes!
