Default 1st time poster needs help

Hello everyone. I need some help with a strange problem. I have a 2000 coupe that I have owned for 3 years. I went to start it Saturday and I noticed right away that something was wrong. When I unlocked it with the key device the lights didn't flash. The doors did unlock, but car won't turn over. I had last ran it with the lights on and thought the battery might be run down. So I jumped it. This didn't change anything. I also noticed that some things work, while others don't. For instance I can't open the hatch with either the key device or the button on the dash. The lights work, and seem bright. I later checked the battery with a meter and got 12.5 volts. I checked all the wiring and the fuses. It seems like something with the security system. The computor goes through all the possible messages after flashing Corvette by Chevrolet. I tried to reset the system according to the manual, but it didn't help. The manual states to unlock car with key and then put key in ignion and press unlock on the device. Is this correct? Any suggestions? Have I missed something? It's possible the alarm was set off. I wouldn't have heard it.
Thanks,
Carl

You need to load the battery while checking its voltage. Take it out, bring it to an auto parts shop and have them do this while you wait. Hopefully, there is not a big current drain, somehwhere.

Good luck.

i would think it would bea door latch not knowing weather the door is open And/Or unlocked. I am in the process of purchasing my own 2001 Z06. But I work on high end cars for a living(not that it matters at all)but thats whati would look at first(drivers door latch)

I had a similar issue, as Dave 01 suggests check the battery under load. I measured ~12.5V but the current just wasn't there! I was able to jump mine with a 80A jump charger although this took 2 attempts. Mine went flat after around 3 to 4 weeks. The vette seems quite power hungry.
