I am kind of new to the vette thing, I first bought a high miles 1998 c-5 and after a few months traded it back in and bought an awsome dark blue coupe. I have 1965 SS Impala, its big and heavy but its also got a full roller 383 stroker on nitrous. On the Dyno 500hp NA / 650 on the bottle.
The vette is way easier to drive and drive hard. Pretty cheap to make fast too.
M3, your gonna have to spend some serious cash to catch up to a hotrodded Vette.

Good Luck,
P.S.
The vette will give off the appearance that you are more aggressive in the way you pursue things, i.e., career, lifestyle, women. etc......

My dad has always had BMW's, as such I am a big fan. We own a 330CI and this is a great little car. In fact I decided to trade my truck over a year ago and was looking hard at M3's. I thought theSMG variant was the way forward (needing the wife to drive sometimes) and I was bitterly dissapointed. In fact almost in tears as I had my heart set on one of these. It was like a spoilt kid and had to be driven. In fully auto mode the gear changes were so abrupt I was in disbelief. I had looked at other marques and had excluded the Corvette. When browsing at a chevy garage I started looking more closely at the vettes and took one for a drive. That was it, game over. These cars are awesome! You can cruise and you can fly. I got an 04 with 23k on it for $34k. By comparison the M3 was $40k and had similar milleage. I still love BMW's but the Corvette is a different class of vehicle. I have no regrets although still some sadness - lol.

Interesting story, thanks for sharing! There is no way on God's Green Earth you're gonna regret doing that, my friend. Corvette: The Greatest Sports Car In The World.

Maybe it is just the BMWs around here, but everytime I have had to stand my ground with one of them it has always been no contest. They might be fast up against other cars, but they have never presented a problem for my vette.

Love all the analogies about why guys buy vettes . . . hmmm, wonder what that says about me?
