Default Aftermarket Parts

i have a 98 conv. that i bought about a month ago and it came with a remus, romulus edition, exhaust.. i personally have never heard of this brand and i was wondering if anyone can give me some info on it

i installed a bbk intake about 2 weeks agoand noticed a little difference in acceleration and i was interested to see if anyone else has installed a bbk intake and what they thought about it and what kind of power gains they may have had

i also picked up a hypertech programmer and was wondering if what kind of power gains and accelertion i might be looking at with this programmer

I've never seen a Remus Romulus exhaust, etc. Imagine it is one of many "brands" actually manufactured by one of several wholesale shops (Billy Boat makes headers for several brands, so does, I think, whoever makes Hookers). I've seen the bbk intake and its about like several others - again, the market is full of near look alikes and similar designs (not too hard, at least conceptually, to design a good intake -- trick is to manufacture and market it at low cost). Most of these only make 3-7 HP addition, not enough to really tell a difference -- at least on the dyno.

As to reprogramming, I much prefer to have a good re-tuning done at a professional shop, on the dyno, one with LS1edit onr something similar. Usually you can pick up a bit of HP with that alone.

I did some research on the remus exhaust and apparently its made by a company who makes exhaust systems for porsche, mercedes benz, bmw, and audi and until recently have started making exhausts for corvettes, camaros, and gtos. It came with the car and it sounds pretty good so i think i might leave it.

i agree with you on the tuning of the car at a professinonal shop.. but i got the programmer for free so i give it a try.. if i dont like it i can tune it back to stock.. also i was wondering if you or anybody knows of a good tuning/dyno shop in southeast michigan.. thanks
