On the left side of my auto dimming rear view I think the little "cover/window" that went over the sensor fell out. The dealer said it does not have one. I can see a hole and some electronic bars in there. To make matters worse they said it was replaced on a service trip but it looks like the same mirror ! Also does the passender side mirror auto dim ?

 

yes this might have happened....during servicing this misplacing would have been done...

 

Auto dimming rear view mirror also dims drivers side view mirror. Its a nice feature on a busy highway. Wonder if it can be tested with a sheet of tint taped to the inside of the window at night?
