rear view mirror ball socket

Default rear view mirror ball socket

My rear view mirror is real loose. the ball socket is the problem. Is there a fix?

You sure it's the ball loose in the socket? Or maybe the part that slides down onto the glued-onto-the-windshield part.

Theres a tiny allen screw that secures the slide onto that glued piece...

Mine has same problem. It was worse with the Targa top off. I tightened the tiny
screw as tight as would go but the vibrations would shake/shift mirror. It's not as bad
with top in place..Tightens roof/less vibration.

I was thinking either learn to live with it or get complete mirror replacement. Saw it
advertised in some Corvette Parts Wishbook but don't remember which one.

it is a roadster and is not glued onto the windshield.
