The 01s (6-speed tranny) through 04shave 25 lbs-ft of torque more than the 97-00 C5s.

0-60 was measured by Car & Driver in 4.5 seconds and the 1/4-mile in 13.1 seconds at 110 MPH. Keep in mind that those times were achieved on the hard-as-rock runflat tires. I've seen 01s that did 12.8 in the 1/4-mile with just an intake and non-runflat tires.

If you get an 01, try to get a late model (as I did), as they are less likely to have the oil-burning problem.

Good luck!

The 01-04 C5s have 375 lbs-ft of torque vs. 350 lbs-ft for the 97-00 C5s. Plus, the 01s had many improvements like active handling and steering enhancements.
