c5 '02 tire monitor system reads low presure
Read a lot of threads, but haven't seen an answer to this question. What happens (what does the dash show) when the tire monitor system sensors in the rims run out of juice. (batteries go bad.) This is on a C5 2002. Do they show erratic pressure, show low pressure, or all of a sudden stop showing anything ?
Had them just programed by GM dealer with the fancy tool. But the fronts are showing 10 and 18, and I know they both have 30. Not sure if it is batteries, or something else. Thanks for your help !

I found this, a while back:
The sensors can't be "calibrated", they send the ABSOLUTE tire pressure, which is then "adjusted" by the Barometric pressure (obtained from the PCM) at the RFA. The RFA then transmits the "corrected" pressures to the IPC via the vehicle's data bus.
If you are still getting invalid readings (and you are SURE they are wrong) then the batteries in the TPMS are probably getting weak and need to be replaced.
