c5 brake light malfunction
mragor,
one side, sounds as if it could be the harness. take out a tail light, and check where your harness plugs into the harness coming from the front of the car. its usually is on the passenger side by the muffler and can be gotten to fron under the car. taking out a tail light will allow some light to filter through. also check the length of the harness for a ''rub" that could be causing a short. if you have access to another harness unplug the tail light harness from the main harness and plug in the test to see if it works. good luck troublshooting.

Well it sounds like what I went through a year ago on my 02, I tried troubleshooting and finally took to a auto electrical shop. They told me that the brake lights go through the turn, lights and cruise control switch. I had them replace the switch and so far so good.Be prepared to spend about $350 or so including the part depending on where you take it.
