Default clutch options

the other day while driving the clutch pedal went to the floor and only came up because I was able to put my foot under it and bring it up manually and with a few pumps managed to get enough pedal to shift gears and make it home. Doing some reading and asking around it seems the clutch slave cylinder is leaking and losing fluid and pressure. I checked the fluid and it was black and indeed low so I did fluid change from up top kind of just for giggles and because getting under the car is darn near impossible to try and bleed it. With it starting to get cold and since the car will be parked for a bit I'm going to go ahead and have the slave cylinder changed out and since the car is 21 yrs old and just turned 100k on the odometer I figured while in there I would go ahead and put a new clutch system in as well. Im looking for advice on clutches, components and such, what all will I need ? GM upgrades that will work with the C5 6 speed, I don't race the car, I do have some performance upgrades but its just heads, fast 92 intake, throttle body and cold air breather, its not like its putting out crazy horsepower Its really just a cruiser now a days, Ive been told the C7 system will work in the C5.. any truth to this ?? looking for guidance from the gurus..
appreciate the help in advance

Sounds as if the clutch spring on the pedal is broken. Check the spring, replace fluid, maybe replace the clutch master cylinder if needed and go from there..

I have used Hays clutches in many "stock" applications without any trouble. Stay away from cheap pressure plates. You won't be happy.
Clutch slave and master should be changed at the same time.

Had the same issue, took a chance and replaced clutch master and that solved the problem, it has 113,000 miles
