Default Cracked Manifold

7 years old, 78,000 miles, CRACKED MANIFOLD! Yesterday I got the Dual Tip Borla Singers I ordered in and had them installed same day (LOVE `EM)...I always suspected I had an exhaust leak on the drivers side manifold and it has been confirmed.

Now my questions are: Repair/replace the stock manifold or go ahead and put on a new set of headers? True that long tube headers are illegal on California streets? If they are...install them anyway and find a local smog shop to overlook them? How hard would it be to install the headers myself in my garage using jackstands (I'm very mechanically inclined & have done lots of work on cars in my garage. i.e....tranny swaps, clutches, cat-back installations, etc.)? If I should have a shop install them...a muffler shop ok or should I go to a mechanic?

I know...lots of questions! Thanks in advance to all who reply!

Yeah...that's what I'm gonna do...but I want the long tubes and I've heard they're illegal on california streets...so before I install them I better try to find a smog shop who'll overlook that minor mod!

Hmmm....will my car even pass california's smog test with the long tube headers?!

I should be getting smog notification this Feb. with my registration renewal. After I smog with the O.E. cracked manifold, I'm putting on a set of LG long-tube headers (Illegal in my home state of California). I should be long gone from this state (I can't wait) by the time I'm due for another smog! [8D]

if you want HP only go for KooKs headers

if you want Torque only go for Bassani headers

If u want both HP & Torque, I recommend LG headers

you need HP for speed & Torque for Accerelation and moving the car from 0 speed
