cracks? in glass top UPDATE
Great foum learned a lot already, THANKS to everyone!
Just got a 1998 coupe with a glass top it has these fine cracks in it. It looks like its in the film or it could be fine scratches in the glass. Is this common and can it be fixed?
JC
OK I tried Meguiars "Plastx", no real change.Maybe made the scratches slightly less noticible but still there.
Tested heavy duty rubbiing compound no change.
I tested 1500 grit wet sand paper. It took off the the surface layer which is just what it looks like when you wet sand through color layer on a car body. Probably not a good idea.
So far so bad. I'll keep testing and report backthe negatives and of course any (doubtful) positives.
What the heck it looks like $%#@ anyway, can't make it too much worse....can I???

RE: cracks? in glass top
From what I have read, this is fairly common, although my polycarbonate top looks perfect after 5 years (car is covered when outdoors). Some people have had theirs painted, but as far as I know, there is no inexpensive way to fix them, once they crack.
