Default Damn headlights!

O.K. A while back I replaced the stock plastic headlight motor gears with brass ones and some of you gave me advise and a web site to go to for step by step instructions. Recently the drivers side would come back up after I turned off the lights and someone gave me the link to the fix so I bought the parts and installed the washers inbetween the motor housing and the bracket as well as replacing the 2 insulators ( stops ). Now the passenger side sometime won't even come up; I had to manually turn the motor a bit to get it out of a bind and then it's o.k. The drivers side keeps chewing up the plastic insulators and causing the headlight to rise up once turned off. The drivers side is probobly an easy fix, more washers for spacers but how about the passenger side being in a bind? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Was the gear easy to replace? I just ordered the "fix kit" with the metal gear, my drivers side light is making noise and im afarid the gear is stripped.
