Lightbulb Driver side rear view mirror falling off

The mirror is working fine, electrically speaking. It has just come loose from the little post inside, so it wobbles. Everyone i speak to just wants to sell me a new mirror assembly, which is not necessary. Anyone know what to do? (besides double stick tape! So tacky!!!

Sorry but I haven't played with the newer corvette mirrors. But if it like a lot of the other GM mirrors where the mirror back has a socket built on it, and it pops onto the post in the mirror mount bracket and the socket is to big for the ball post and flops. If this is the case one of two things you could try if the socket is all intact and not missing any socket tabs, you can take the mirror off and lay it on a flat surface mirror side down, socket side up maybe on a soft rag or towel. If you have a hair dryer that works well on high you can carefully heat the socket, if you don't have a hair dryer you can use a propane torch on a very very low setting, heatthe tabs and slightly bend them inward and make the socket tighter. Let it cool completly before reinstalling. If the heated tabs a not enough and it needs more support you can heat it again then put a puddle of epoxy around the back side of the tabs to hold there position trying not to get epoxy into the socket. You might need to circle the socket with electric tape first to keep the epoxy out then place the epoxy behind the tape. That should tighten it up. If that doesn't work, send a picture of the attachment and we could try something else.
