Default erratic idle

I need some imput on this if possible please. Drove car to work in the morning everything was fine , went to leave for lunch and car was running very rough. When you came to a stop it would almost die out. While driving the car home I got a check engine light but I left my scanner at work ( dummy me ). Car acts like its missing on a cyl. or two , it stumbles out of the hole but seems to clean up once you get going and then at a cruise speed you can feel a miss. Its a 2002 vette.coupe six speed with about 35k miles on it.I would just like to know if there is problems with the coils going out or valve rockers breaking or anything to get me started .Any hlp would be great , thanks CF .

You do need your scanner but a quicker solution would be to do as good a visual inspection under the hood as possible, such as connectors, vacuum lines etc. good luck. cjs

It could be something as simple as a spart plug wire or vacuum hose that came loose.Do a visual, first. Also, you can check codes without a scanner - see
