FAST vs. Weiand Intake Manifold?
The FAST manifold can be had for $682 on ebay, the Weiand for $426. Which one will perform better? Anybody with either of these intakes on your C5, I would love to hear comments. Thanks.
The FAST intake is going to give you the better performance because it flows better than the Weiand intake. The Weiand intake flows very similar to the stock Z06 intake and the FAST intake outflows the Z06 intake. Also keep in mind that the FAST intake comes in two different sizes, so if your car is pretty close to stock you are going to want to use the smaller of the two. If you are using a strokers engine you should go with the bigger intake.
Based on what I know the FAST is the better performer. The Weiand manifolds I have seen are slightly ported metal versions of the stock LS6 intake manifold. They polish up very nicely to a show car metal gleam but offer little additional performance. Weiand may have another version I am unaware of . . .

Yeah, I have the FAST intake on my car, LOVE IT!! I think it's pretty just the way it is. Now, here's the kicker,I understand you're looking for performance, but how are you on a quiet ride? The stock LS1 and LS6 intakes have noise-cancelling "columns" if you will built in to the Intake Manifold tokeep you from hearing air rushing through the manifold. If you don't want to hear something like that, don't get the FAST, because to help improve performance they created their manifold without these noise-reducing devices. I've had older people ride with me that think the sound is annoying, I like it, let's me know my baby is still breathing, but if you don't want to hear the engine, stay away from the FAST. Other than that, I LOVE IT and I think it looks killer!
Definately going to purchase the FAST. Thanks for your input everybody, I don't care what it sounds or looks like if it will make my vette move faster! I like the look of the FAST too!
It's a '99 C5, only mods so far are a K&N Intake system, looking next to the FAST manifold and in Jan, I'm going to put on the Borla aggressive, with X pipe and long tube headers.
