Header setup
I recently picked of a 97 and it currently has the SLP Loudmouth axleback exhaust. I initially liked the sound but the more I drive it is a bit loud. I plan to do headers, intake and then tune it to wake the car up. I am looking for any inout as far as brands and setups. My fear is if I keep the slp on and do these othere installs, it will be too obnoxious. Let me know what you think. As of now the car is stock except for exhaust.

If you think it's loud now, you will think it's obnoxious with LT headers. I suggest Magnaflow or Borla Stingers for medium loudness with headers, or Z06 titanium if those two are too loud for you.

Thanks for the advice. Now what would be a good setup that would be the best bang for the buck? Are LT that much better to go with over shorties? What brands are good and does it matter of I go for instance magnaflow exhaust with a borla x pipe and bb headers? I already have the x pipe not installed yet.

Yes, LTs are much better than shorties. However, if you live in CA, LTs are illegal. Since I live in CA, the last set of LTs I had were on my 68 C3 (Doug Thorley) but I hear good things about LG headers. Certainly, you can mix manufacturers without worry.
Of course, you biggest bang for the buck is a supercharger setup. An A&A kit can increase your rear wheel horsepower from 310 to 500 for about $7000 (installed and tuned) If fact, most superchargers are leagal in CA.

Ok so I placed the order and installation starts Monday. I went with he Borla long tube headers, borla X pipe and borla axle back performance exhaust. I also am putting on the BBK cold air intake. I wanted to get some feedback on my decision weather you agree or disagree. Also, is anyone else running this kit or recommended a different intake. It's not too late.
And I also would like to get the program tuner so what are your recommendations??
