How fast have you taken your C5?
Wow. That takes guts. There are a lot of things I will do, such as 192 in my vette (see earlier post in this thread), but letting another car alongside me at 160, on public roads, is not one of them. No driver I trust that much not to make that tiny mistake.
180+ mph.indicated,
I took a picture with my cell phone,
Undisclosed highway in South Dakota,
that is one of the few benefits of living in the Rural prairie.
I would say they C-5 vettes are very drivable to 140mph, over that you can tell that, yeah you are actually going pretty fast.
God forbid a ticket at that speed.

yeah, my brother took my car out the other day and hit 130+, not the fastest he's ever taken it though. Unfortunately, a cop was posted alongside the hwy but had the radar setup for oncoming traffic. My brother was going away from him, and of course the cop never saw him coming. By the time the cop flipped his radar over to away traffic, my brother got it down to 92, then 77 a split second later. He ended up getting the ticket for 77 in a 55. A warning to those out there--> this type of luck comes only from divine power. Keep it safe and slow. Alot more positive attention can be had a 5mph than 150mph.

Your control is seriously compromised at such high speed then just add in the high probability of finding some idiot on the road and there you have it, a recipe for disaster.
Thus my closing line:
Take care, stay safe.

p.s. No offense to idiots intended.

Those are wise words.....no more speeding for me.....from now on it's just cruising for show, not racing for ego!
PS: Besides, ever since I installed this rear spoiler and changed my rear axle ratio I noticed my vette has lost some top speed.....but it has gained more power at low - mid speeds. I'll take that trade-off!
Pedro,
Recently, I read that the Hypertech Programmer is not compatible with all customized exhaust sytems andyou actually lose a little hp.
Can't find that thread, but if I do,I'll send it to you. Now, I know you don't have the HP, but wonder if that is what has happened to the Black Stallion.

Either way, it is still my dream car.

I got up to 160mph with my supercharged C5 on Canada's #1 highway. I have a manual transmission with stock 18" run flats. I was revving 5000 rpm in 5th gear. I started getting a little worried about hitting some birds but it was plenty fast enough for me.
