How many miles
I recently purchased my Vette with low miles. My wife and I will be driving it as a daily driver for about 2 years. I am guessing at that point it will have about 50,000 miles on it.
How many miles do you guys have on your C5's?
Have you had any issues or expenses other than tires?

RE: How many miles
I saw in a recent post by Mr Lee Willis that these engines were designed for 200,000 miles.....I'd guess that would be plus or minus...depending on how you care for it (oil changes, etc)....but I would guess there are a lot of folks on here with a fair amount of miles on their cars. I was pretty fortunate when I found mine....it only had 2734 miles on her....now she has 3500. I would say it would depend on how you drive.....tires, brake pads, oil changes, tranny fluid, rear diff lube, etc, etc would be standard expenses. From what I've seen on here.....the column lock issue would be a popular topic....I'm sure Lee will give you a lot more detail for your particular 2000 model.

RE: How many miles
According to my local dealer the column issues was handled by a recall at one time. So regular maintenance is acceptable.
Here is another question,
How many people with 6 speeds have the rattle and clank sound coming from their tranny area?

Yea....there was a recall on that column lock issue.....sounds like you're good on that.
Mmm...how loud you talking? I get a little rattle that I can feel through my shifter....but I get more than stock with a BPP (Breathless Performance Products) short throw shifter....even so, I only hear it when I'm at high revs...so very rarely on the street...but on the track...It winds up pretty good No clanking....we'll see when one of the "Tech Certified" folks chime in on this one!

RE: How many miles
We bought our 98 with 35,000 miles on it, and we now have 37,400. It's just a weekend driver, not a daily driver. I had the issue with the fuel gauge dropping to "E" when i bought it, but have used nothing but chevron gas, and added techron on the first 4 fuel ups, and the problem is NO MORE. The guy that I bought it from was not much into maintenance. He had the rotors turned and they did a horrible job. I just could not deal with that pulsating pedal anymore, changed all the rotors ( GM slotted and drilled), ceramic pads, and going to put all new calipers this weekend. Man what a nice difference on the feel of the pedal.
We hope it lasts a long time, and Love taking her out for drives. We'll probably put about 5,000 - 7,000 miles a year on it.

How does your car eat belts? Chew them up? Wear and fray them at one edge? Break them?
I've never seen any belt problem in a well adjusted SC setup - belts usually go 15K miles or more. The weak tensioner bracket problem I mentioned elsewhere a few weeks ago with Prochargers (and, I heard, Vortech, too) can cause all of the problems I mentioned above. Maybe you have a warped tensioner bracket.
