Left turn signal blinks real fast -???
I took my vette out tonight and noticed the left turn signal blinks faster than normal. Does that mean the fuse is going or something like that? I was hoping to stay away from the dealership for a while, but it looks like I'll be going back tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

RJ, I think one of you bulbs is out. turn on the directionals and look to see which one it is. you should be able to change that yourself. the dealership is a rip. cheers, blueshark(George)

Thats most likely what it's going to be Rita.
It just happened to me a few weeks ago, and I changed all the bulbs up front.
Kind of a built in safety thing to let you know you have a light out....but Blueshark is right stay away from the dealer. They will charge $80.00 probably.

The flasher is designed for so much resistance and when a bulb goes out the resistance decreases. That is why it blinks faster or sometimes with a good flasher, it won't blink at all. My money is on one of the front bulbs.

Thanks everyone. My husband is going to show me how to replace this and we are going to do it after work today. I can't wait. I love learning and doing this stuff.
Thanks again, I know the dealership is a real rip.
Take care, stay safe,
Rita

you can either go at it from underneath, removing the screws on the plastic access piece to that area, "Did you like that, PLASTIC ACCESS PIECE!, That sounds real technical, Ugh"?, or I have read here where they have removed the headlight assembly, and reached it from the top. Just a few Torx screws, and I guess it comes right out.
I chose to go in from the bottom, AND DON'T FORGET TO PRESS IN THE CLIP ON THE SOCKET BEFORE YOU TURN IT THE 1/4 TURN OTHERWISE IT WILL BE TOUGH TO TURN.
Good Luck!!

That is funny! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this. You and all the rest of the guys are just great and so kind to help. I try to stay low-profile on this forum because I can see it is pretty much a guys' site. My degree is in computer science, so although I love messing with gizmo kind of things, I know very little about cars - but I'm learning and loving it. Thanks again for all you help.
Take care, stay safe.

I thought this forum was for 'vette owners. dosen't matter boy-girl, man-women. even X brand drivers here I think. If two heads are better than one, than a pot load is great. Keep the post comin'. get your hubby a 'Vette and he can join in too. That's the ticket...His and Hers "go fasts" What a country!
