MY MOTOR BLEW !!!!!! ZO6 SWAP ???? OR STAY STOCK LS1
OK SO PLAIN AN SIMPLE MY MOTOR BLEW ON MY LS1.. IM THINKING OF SWAPPING FOR THE LS6... THEY SAID I CAN REFLASH MY STOCK COMPUTER AND EVERYTHING PLUGS RIGHT IN INCLUDING THE HARNESS.... WHAT SHOULD I DO.. GNA COST ME ABOUT 8000 FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE MOTOR....
Depends on what you want from the car. Me....I say if anything ever breaks that is a sign to up-grade. If you just want your car back to the old car you had do the LS1......but the LS6 would be bad! Nobody would see it comming....
Good luck bro.
Good luck bro.
"Blowing" your engine can mean a lot of different things, which are a heck of a lot cheaper than $8000 to fix. But, the LS6 is a much stronger block and definately a significant upgrade. Here's a great article describing the differences: http://www.idavette.net/hib/ls6/page2.htm
ight guys thanks for the input called up gm performance got my discount an picked up the ls6 for 5 grand..im also gna pick up the z06 clutch and jus gna add what i had before my longtubes custom exhaust with dumps.. now i wana tweak my exhaust since z06 sound sick whats the best sounding xpipe i saw bassani , borla , corsa they all make one... i know this kid with a mustang and has an xpipe an thats it an sound good......also no cat ?? or highflow ???
Only thing I would change would be to add a bigger cam to the LS6 engine. Should give you an even better HP jump then just the LS6. But certainly the LS6 over the LS1.
My buddy down in TEXAS just blew his LS6 and opted to get a Custom Built LMI motor. I believe a 440 Stroker. Only downfall is , he didnt do his research and the guy installing it is RAPING him bad!!!!!
Be selective about who you go to and do your research.
Good luck on your new motor. Keep us posted with numbers.
