Post OBX HEADERS? EXHAUST OUT FIRE? or back fire?

I have an 02 z06 with bbk ssi intake, bassani x pipe corsa exhaust, vararam CAI and I had the car tuned. At least they said they tuned it. When I rev the car up or am coming off a high rmps my exhaust will pop. I have changed the plugs not long ago and the wires. So any idea what might be the cause to this crappy sound?

I also was wondering if anyone had ever dynoed a set of OBX HEADERS. looking to get a set but dont want to waste 800 for 5 hp increase. Any thing you could help me on I would be thankful!!!

Thanks guys,

Chad

Out fire, in the ol' days it would be a combo of timing and unburned gases in the exhaust.
When it comes to 'puters, sensors, and micro-mini whatevers I'm totally lost, but the same priciples should still apply.
You wouldn't be getting oufire if you were burning all of your fuel, at the right time, no matter how you're set up.

Your exhaust pops because you have a freer-flowing exhaust. My OEM cat-back exhaust never produced popping noises; my Borla Stingers always do. The popping sound is totally muffled when the OEM cat-back is in place. Opening up the flow raises the volume of the exhaust gasses and high RPM downshifting releases the popping.

You'll gain at least 20HP with a set of long tube headers installed. Up to 35 HP is possible with a good tune.
