Default possible 02 Z06 owner

Hi guys. I m new to this forum. Came over from Ls1tech for some ansewers.

I am in the process of possibly trading my t/a in on a 02 Z06. It is silver and has only 6200 miles on it. Car is showroom condition. He is asking $35000 for it. I may be able to get him down 1k or 2k. You guys think that is a good price?

I have also been looking into mods already, lol. The prices for the vette performance parts are crazy compared to the f-bodies. Any tips on what I should look for? I have driven a 03 Z06 before and that car is just crazy

What is with this holding the active handling button down for 8 seconds after starting? Didn't do that to the 03 that I drove. I wanted to go procharger, but I really want the lump and idle of a nice cam. Maybe a G5x3 and some spray???? Not really sure. May just stay stock for a year or so, like I said maybe, HAHAHA It still has the stock tires on it, what would be good tires for it? anyting with a nitto drag radial in those 18" size? Thanks to all that respond!

Hello, I think thats a pretty fair price on it considering the miles. As for the active handling question, that is just for the track basically. It puts the vette into competitive driving mode, no active handling and no traction control. When I drive for the most part I just turn off the active handling. As far as tires go, I have yokos on mine, when they are heated up they seem to stick pretty good to the road even with the extra power im putting down. Anyway I'll let Lee or someone else answer any other questions, Lee pretty much knows anything and everything about C5's.

Have you thought about Michelin Pilot Sport or Pilot Sport 2? Let's put it this way, the PS2's are good enough for the Bugatti Veyron.

Enough Said

I am going to try to get the car within the next few days. I will try and get a $1000-$2000 off on the car. I had forgot about the Michelins Pilot Sports. I am sure that those are like $350 each or so.

I seen a few 02-04 Z06's run at 41 today. Lets say I was very dissapointed on how they ran, but I think that they needed the driver mod. LOL

Heard that they are a bit tricky to launch, but practice makes perfect. Any short throw shifter you guys would recommend? Plus would 3.73's or 4.10's make a big difference on the 1/4 mile times? I am new to the vettes, coming over from f-bodies. I love f-bodies but always wanted a vette. Just wish that the prices for the aftermarket stuff were close to the same prices as the f-bodies.

The first thing I want to do is:

chrome Z06 rims
short throw shifter
possible better rear tires-the stock ones are still on it with tons of rubber
line lock
CAI

Anything else that you guys would recommend? not going to have the tons of money for a full exhaust, cam and spray. Just yet, LOL.

I've been looking for a line lock myself for my future 'vette. Haven't found one yet. Hurst has a good short throw shifter. Look on www.madvet.com or www.westcoastcorvette.com SLP has a nice CAI, the Blackwing.
