That is so hilarious! My wife opened the door and looked out into the garage where I was washing my vette (yes, I wash it indoors sometimes), saw me blow drying it with the leaf blower and just rolled her eyes and went back inside

And I love the leaf-blower idea! Gotta try it.

I love it!Yeh, I NEVER take any of our cars to the auto carwash. I was trained in my teens as a car detailer, and the things you learn about those auto car washes make it so you never want to darken their doorways. Unless, of course, we're talkin' about a well rusted 84 Metro Geo, or something like that....

Besides, I just love "gettin' close and personal" with my car, some soap and a mitt. In our neighborhood, when I wash it, it ALWAYS results in passers-by starting up a conversation, thus allowing me to drone on and on and on about how great the car truly is.
Funny how these passers-by only stop once.

I'd rather have a dirty car than one with a paint job that looks like it was painted with a broom!!
My $.02

Well, I'll admit I wash both my cars at home with a push broom - it is a soft bristle. I first clean the wheels -- the Porsche gets tremendous brake dust on it in only a week that nothing but physical scrubbing will take off -- I use windex and a big paint brush to go over them. Then I hose the car down with a pressure washer, then spray dishwasher liquid over it, hose it somemore, run the pushbroom back and forth to scrub every surface, then rinse it off with the pressure washer.
To dry it off, I just take it out on a back road right around the corner and blow dry it off -- anything over 75-80 dries it off in about twenty seconds.
