Question about forums.....

RE: Question about forums.....
There are several other corvette forums. All that you have to do is to Google "corvette forum". This one is nice because:
A) You can keep up with it. Some forums have hundreds (and hundreds) of posts/day. Who wants to read (or has the time to read) all of that? And out of those hundreds, only a dozen have real info. The rest are just people who think that because they belong to the forum they are obligated to respond to each and every post. On this forum, people only reply if they have something interesting, funny or informative to say (mostly).
B) This forum is well moderated. Occasionally someone new will register just to start a flame war about how his highly modified _____ can beat a vette. The moderators here will quickly put the kibosh on that. They do this very effectively without becoming draconian. On some of the other forums, it's a free-for-all. There can be page after page of nothing but "oh yeah, well my brothers car can beat your dads car so that makes you an idiot". Who wants to read that?
3) Some of the members here are very knowledgeable about vettes, and cars in general. And they are willing to share that info. It takes effort to sit down and write up a coherent explanation about cam profiles (or final drive ratios or whatever). Some of the members here are willing to put in that time, with nothing to gain for themselves. When you ask a question on some other forums you may get ten different answers from 50 different people (and then five pages of posts arguing about it). Good luck trying to guess who's right. Debate does happen here, however it's usually dominated by those who really know.
D) I could go on, but you should be getting the picture.
