do all C5's come with fog lights?

is z06 and z51 suspesion the same?

do any transmissions use carbon synchronizers?

what are the most inhierant problems?

also; what are the best years to shoot for? I'd like to get one for 18k if possible [am i dreaming?]

My comments are in italics:

do all C5's come with fog lights? I was under the impression that the base model did not. Maybe any base model owners can chime in....

is z06 and z51 suspesion the same? No, I believe the Z06 is slightly stiffer with more aggressive leaf springs and sway bars.

do any transmissions use carbon synchronizers? Not sure.

what are the most inhierant problems?
Leaking differential gaskets
Steering column lock failure
Door lock module failure
Air pump check valve failure (results in "check engine" light)
Oil pressure gauge sender unit malfunction

Gas gauge malfunction

also; what are the best years to shoot for? I'd like to get one for 18k if possible [am i dreaming?]
Late 2001 - 2004 are the best years, IMO. Starting in 2001, torque was increased (manual tranny cars) by 25 lbs-ft to 375 lbs-ft. HP was bumped by 5 to 350 and there were many improvements, from active handling to better steering, starting in 2001. Some of the earlier 01s were oil burners and some of those engines were re-ringed by the dealership. I have a late-model 01 and I add a quart of 5W-30 Mobile 1 every 2500-3000 miles. 18K for one of the newer years may be tough unless you are willing to live with high miles.

Clutches are good for over 100,000 miles unless the owner visited the dragstrip every week. BTW, a Cold Air Intake and cat-back exhaust can bump your Rear Wheel HP by 10-16.

My coupe has the Z51 suspension package from the factory and removable tops, so no, that guy is NOT lying.

Not all C5's have fog lights. they are optional. they are not a Z06 only thing though, they can be put on any model.

you can find them for 18k, but its going to be older and higher miliage, but they are out there.
