My rear diff is leaking. I took it to a corvette specialist and they are charging me $450. They say they have to remove the whole rear end to change one little bolt. The parts (they say) will cost only $30. I do not want to get ripped off. Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone recommend any good shops in the bay area (san jose, ca)?

 

My diff leak was fixed under warranty. Total labor time in the books is 1.9 hours. Even if it takes your specialist twice that long, the cost shouldn't be that high, IMO.
