Thanks for your input. I don't think this stang was modified - I just think the driver was out of touch with reality. Lord knows what they tell the customer when they are selling these cars.

Good Lord, if that thing was stock, then this guy was just lookin' to waste our valuable energy resources. As a matter of fact, you shoulda turned aroun', and done raced him in reverse. You'da still won.

I was definately not including the SVT (Cobra's), particularly the SC'd '03s. If it has a snake on the side instead of "GT" one has to be careful, although my Porsche (five-speed auto trans, 13.48 in the quarter) can actually take my neighbors '98 Cobra 5 speed by a couple of lengths to 100, so a stock C5 whould not have a problem with the earlier ones. But the 390 HP SC'd one, that is quite different. A C5 ZO6 can take one (at least if its stock) by a few lengths in the quarter (so could a standard C6, I'd think), but I'm not sure a standared C5 could beat one.

Well, thanks. I figure ignoring them is the best way to dis' them. I treat the 350 Z's the same way.
Around here it is the same "dead rat" situation. These stangs are everywhere. Some are nicer than others, but they can't compare to the class and style of a vette.

A few stangs' have tried to jump on me, I am an old die hard street racer from the late 60's and early 70's, when I read this post it just thrilled the heck out of me, I am on my sixth vette' now and they just keep gettin' better and better, 58',63' split, 65'roadster,70' (427/435hp from the factory) an 84' and now my 98', sorry got carried away, I have put more stangs out to pasture than you can shake a wooden hoof at, keep em' going boys and blow their *** out your pipes, YEEHAW [:@]
