Default Someone help me decide on a heads cam package

Hi everyone. I have a 1998 stock vette, just got my *** kicked yesterday by a twin turbo little jap Z... This did NOT make me feel good.

My question is, I want to do a heads/cam package to the car, but when I look around on the net for shops, all these diffrent companies are boasting on how theirs are the best and if you go anywhere else, your car will blow up.. huh??

I do not want to affect the driveability of my car, so nothing crazy like the 500-550 hp packages I see. Anything advice is greatly appreciated, I know some of you guys here really know your stuff. Thanks in advanced

Demetri

Also, would this be worth doing to a manual than an automatic, because currently I have a auto, and can trade up for a 6 speed

From what I understand the AFR Mongoose heads are suppose to be pretty good (I plan to one day buy them for my own ride). You might want to do a Google search to get more information on them. Good Luck

I havent done anything to mine yet either but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with LG motorsports head and cam package. They claim a 100 hp gain. I have heard nothing but good things about them and when I talked to them on the phone, they seemed like really nice guys. Good luck, let me know what u decide, I'm curious.

I completely forgot about LG Motorsports when I made my reply, that is another good company to go with, and as zzz06r said you can call them up anytime and they will give you all the info you need.
