Storing my Z06
I'm back! I didn't waste any time getting my "baby" off the jacks and getting her out on the road. I hooked up the battery and it fired right up. I just want to thank you all again for your kind words and advice.

I want to thank you all for your input. I finished putting her to bed this afternoon. She is covered with blankets, on jack stands, windows half way down, I put fuel stabilizer in and ran it a few minutes, and the battery is disconnected.
More importantly, I would like to thank you all for your kind words. It is greatly appreciated. I will not (most likely) be able to access this website from my deployed location...the Air Force/Government generally will not allow you to go to forums, internet mail, online auctions, etc....so everyone isn't on there slowing down the network for its "real world" needs. So I will be back on in a couple months!
Hey Dave, it's funny, I've had lots of offers from my friends....even a couple neighbors that saw me putting it on jack stands - to drive it once in a while to keep the engine lubed up!
Again, thanks for all your help and kind words.

Hey Kevin,
How fast are you going when you are flying your jet???
I am a long time resident of a military town . . . we love our military people and just had the Blue Angels here. They were so awsome! After watching them I couldn't wait to take my vette out for a run. My husband told me to "Take it easy girl!" But then, I hear that a lot.
So good to have you home. Thank you for your service.
Take care, stay safe.

I'm excited...I finally got a pic of my car on my profile now!
Anyway Rita, I'm what's called a "heavy pilot"....I don't fly the fighter types (like the Blue Angels)...I'm an airborne gas station essentially. So I am more like an commercial jet....4 engines...and we weight up to 322,000 lbs when we take off fully loaded. To answer your question (I tend to get windy talking about my occupation) we will typically fly anywhere from Mach .77 up to .85, which is up to 650mph....give or take. Throw in a good tailwind up at altitude and I've seen up to 770mph of what we call GS (ground speed)....ie: how fast we are actually moving across the ground.

Oooooweeee! How cool is that!!!
Golly, now that you are back to GS in your vette, I understand why you are looking for a Honker and whatever else will crank-up the RWHP.

Feel free to expound about your flying any ole time.
Thanks again.
Rita
p.s. I just checked out your profile - very cool vette, but I'm wondering is that your second ride in the BG (background)?

The nice thing about racing a car....I'm like less than 12 inches off the ground....a lot more feeling of speed......at 30,000 and some feet...you have no rush of ground....only if you fly pretty low!
Yea...haven't took any high res photos of her yet....that is a pic the Dealership took on their lot....they are "Jet Chevrolet"....so they apparently think it is funny to have an actual jet on their lot.
