vibration & noise driver side rear
I recently purchased my 99 corvette coupe with 23000 miles.
There is an extremely annoying "growl" coming from the driver side left rear.
At first I thought it was just tire road noise.
The run flat tires are not the quietest tire you can purchase.
So I switched to another set of tires (not run flat) and it made absolutely no difference.
Is it possible I have a bad wheel bearing?
Seems as if the noise level increases and decreases as you accelerate and decelerate.
Cruzing at 65 is unbearable and annoying.
It's the first thing people notice if they ride with me.
Anyone offer some advise??
Thanks!

RE: vibration & noise driver side rear
I believe bad wheel bearings typically make more noise as you round a corner, either left or right. Still, it's hard to believe that a bearing is bad with only 23,000 miles on it. Hopefully the C5 tech will chime in with his experience regarding this issue.

More than likely, the wheel bearing is making the noise. Also, check your brake pads to see if any foreign object has made it in behind the rotor and backing plate. My money is on the wheel bearing, though.
