None of the above. The absolute best (money, no object) is the Callaway Honker. Not only is it an engineering work of art, but it also performs better than anything else. At $450-$500, it aint cheap, however!

Now, the best bang for the buck goes to the Halltech Stinger. It comes with huge filter, airbridge, and smooth TB coupler, all for about $300.

So the $800.00 Carbon Fiber Hurricane Ram Air Intake I just purchased with the Carbon Fiber Duct is junk? The reps from WestCoast Corvette say it rocks....

What kind of HP dose yours put out? Do you need a differnet hood?

I didn't say that the others are junk. It's just that the Callaway seems to have spent far more research to come up with its design. Consider that:

1) The Callaway Honker relocates the MAF to directly in front of the throttle body. Look at the C6s and you'll notice the the same design - better throttle response and fewer worries about oil from the filter migrating up to the MAF sensor wires.

2) The Honker is 50 states smog legal, which means you can use it anywhere.

3) It's dyno-proven to increase RWHP by 16 in a Z06, which in stock form, has an intake box with a larger opening that that of the Coupe/Vert's intake box. When you read about other intake's gains, make sure they start with a Z06 box, not a 97-00 box that has virtually no opening in it.

Granted, others produce gains that are somewhat close, but I've never personally seen any intake produce more than that, and I've been to a few dyno day events.

My own setup gained me 13 RWHP, but that's with Borla Stinger cat-backs, which probably add a couple of HP. Still, I paid $200 for my intake and another $40 for the cold air mods, so I can't complain.

No, you do not need a different hood for any of the intakes listed.

I say VORTEX because I already bought it and had it installed and I don't want to have buyer's remorse!!
Besides, my corvette specialist recommended it! He knows more than I do...of course, there's always the possibility that VORTEX is all he carries jejejeje

Hey Dave, does that Callaway Honker use a different size filter? I have a AMSOIL synthetic air filter that I would still like to use. Do you still think that the Honke is the best out there? You've personally seen the 16 RWHP gain from this intake? What do you think of the Breathless Performance one? A couple of the guys I see at the track all the time love it...and they say it is the best. Have you seen any actual Dyno numbers for that one to compare to the Honker? Thanks.

Kevin

PS. Now that I'm getting some shifts under my belt with that BPP shifter...I'm loving it!

you forgot to put the best one in the poll,LOL, Vararam. I picked up 3.5 to 4 tenths and 3 to 4 MPH in the 1/4 mile with it, you might not see all the big numbers on the dyno, but the times at the track dont lie. I raced a friend wth a 2000 6 speed and would beat me, after the intake, we raced, he even got the jump on me and got out in front, but I actually caught him and drove by, he is running 3.42 gears to my 3.15's, these intakes work

Here are a few interesting threads to check out, the set up looks almost the same as the Honker, with the exception of re-locating the MAF sensor, and the $500 dollar price tag

Hey nobody even mentioned the Donaldson "Blackwing" that I have. I heard it was rated one of the best for the money when I bought it. Do you guys know somethng bad about it that I don't??? I paid about 275 for it.

I do like what you said about the Honker, sounds like the best.
