i think i am hearing NOISY LIFTER.
are these solid lifters in these 5.7motors or hydraulic?
any one know the specs? I hear what seems to be a ticking, especially when the hood is open? what else could sound like a noisy lifter? i assume this noiseshould not be there.

Unless your engine was modified with a solid lifter cam, not it does not have solid lifters.
Anything that sounds like a noisy lifter is not something to be taken lightly. It might be a bad lifter -- some of them go bad.
