Expensive to maintain???

RE: Expensive to maintain???
You heard wrong.
They are quite inexpensive. Just like a normal Chevy truck or anything GM with a V8, and less than other Corvettes because they have far fewer electronic gadgets to go bad.

RE: Expensive to maintain???
Sky,
I've only had mine for a few months but so far there has been nothing expensive. Oh I take that back, the purchase price was expensive (relative to an engineers salary). Oh and it takes premium fuel (it will run on 87 but not as well). And I looked up the price of new tires, around $1300 for a full set. I'll be needing them within a year. And also the insurance was more than my other five vehicles combined (well not really, but it is high and that's probably true for all 'vettes).
And then there's this one other little thing. Now that I've tasted blood (umm uh, I mean speed), I have an overwhelming craving for more. How much is a new exhaust system? What about intake? How much does a blower cost? Somebody drive a stake through my heart, NOW!!!!

Hey!
My Z06 did not have the Tire Inflator kit in the trunk. (I discovered after leaving the dealer.) Well, they cost $600 plus for some crap air compressor.
Run flats won't fit without changing the rims.
Im not into being stranded.
Carry a 4 leaf clover and hope for the best.

Sky,
I have a 2004 coupe (not the Z06), but mine is a six speed. Vettes are more expensive to maintain, like tires cost more, because you're buying high performance stuff. Oil changes are more cuz you're using synthetic and the thing takes a lot... I pay $80 for oil changes. I have owned mine for over 3 years now and it is a daily driver in Southern California. I have had no problems what so ever. I know plenty of Z06 owners and they report the same.
Enjoy,
