Default C6 Gear Changer

Could anyone suggest a good replacement gear shift for my M6. I understand an aftermarket shifter will make the world of diff?

I have driven stick shift pretty much all my life, from Beemers to Mustang GT's and this is by far the most positive responding factory model I have ever experieced. I am just curious why you would want that?

I had a chance to drive a buddys new 911 and loved the slick shifter. I understand B&M and perhaps the new Calloway would give the same results from my C6. I too have driven many standards through out my life but I find this shifter a little rough. Not super bad but I think if an improvement can be made I would like to do it.
Thanks John

The B&M shifter is suppose to be pretty good. I've also heard that the stock C6 Z06 shifter is pretty nice as well.

Wow, smal world and always getting smaller. I would love to trade locations in a place where I could drive my C6 more days. Lately though, Toronto is becoming more like Vancouver with still no snow (which suits me fine). Actually our weather is becoming more like northern Cali. Do let us all know what happens with regard to your shifter change. I for one am the type of person who LOVES the "notchiness" of the shift. It makes me feel as though it is less prone to error than the "rubbery" feel I had in my Saabs and BMW's I drove.
