Hello I have the opportunity to buy a 2009 or 2010 c6 z06 but have been told it was a GM buy back purchase. The previous owner complained of hesitation at high speeds and GM bought the car back and replace the engine entirely. The car is priced very aggressively, how I was wondering if anyone in this forum has had experience with such cars or has ever bought one?

 

if the car is priced where you like and afford it then buy it! because no matter what the mileage is the dealer will stand behind the car and new engine for 36000 miles. and maybe the 100000 miles. i really would not worry to much about it... i used to know a guy who bought a car in a simular situation. and he still drives the car yrs later with no problems. Just make sure that you get the report of everything that gm has done to the car.

 

I would not hesitate getting the buy back as long as the price is right for you. Be sure to test drive it extensively and try to replicate the previous owners problem to make sure that this one does not suffer from the same problem. Enjoy.
