Default top stuck down...shop bound soon!

top refused to go up...fortunately at home in garage & not stuck in rain somewhere. Apparently sensor is bad, it wasn't recognizing the "trunk partician" was indeed attached. Hubby did manage to get it up manually which was a feat in itself cuz the manual isn't clear as to where the pump is located, nor is it clear as to where the "wrench" is located to relieve the the pressure from the pump. Manual said wrench was in glove box but apparently they decided to attach it to a piece of velcro & velcro it near the pump without changing the manual to reflect this. Yep kinda irritated regarding that cuz it would have been much easier had the manual just been a lil clearer. So anyway...tops up & drivable til it can get to the shop, tho I'm not too eager to get it there cuz who knows how long it'll be there! Just wanted to fill y'all in on my 1st problems with only 4500 miles, I'll keep ya posted!

From reading these forums, unfortunately this is a pretty common problem.

I just feel GM needs to step up, and do whatever it takes to solve this and some of the other issues. WAY WAY to soon to be having it back to the shop already!

A member of my church had that happen in the church parking lot when he was showing us his Vette a couple weeks after he got it. Luckly it was a nice day and was able to ride home with the top down.

I still haven't taken it...torn as to where to go, the closest dealer is 20 minutes up the road, they're not as big as the "auto malls" that are popping up, but they do have a designated vette mechanic & are a legit GM dealer with no bad rep as far as I kno, in addition they repair & do all warranty work for our fleet autos. On the other hand, the dealer we bought it from is 1 hr away, sells & probably repairs more vettes & is a lil larger dealer...any thoughts?

Well, I'd suspect the place with the designated Vette mechanic would be just fine for your problems, if they do take the problem seriously for you. So long as the person turnin' the wrenches is a bit of an "expert" on Corvette's you should be just fine. Don't take no for an answer. You bought that car brand new, just a short while ago... NO excuse for this sort of problem, and now that it's here... no excuse for the dealership not to fix it, and fix it properly. Good luck, and do keep us posted.
