Default Advice on buying a C7 model year

I am new to the forum and ready to buy a C7 generation corvette. I found a 2014 Z51 with only 15,000 miles so the first model year and the 6 speed automatic. Am I better off to find a 15 or newer model year and get the 8 speed? Any other improvements on the 15 or newer model? Also I had a 2012 C6 GS I bought from Carvana for 4 days but ended up returning it for too many issues and the the whole buying experience.

thanks
Tom

Welcome to forum. It kind of depends on whether you want to let the car drive itself or do you want to row through the gears yourself. 🤔

If you get your traveling music from Spotify or similar, you want CarPlay, which is not available on 14 and 15 (though there are aftermarket solutions).

Welcome to the forums. Every one has their own music preterence, I myself prefer Sirius across the country. My kids use Carplay and Spotify but i'm old school. I have read the 8 speed transmission shifts 4 times faster than the 6 speed, without very many complaints.

Not sure which one but one of them had what was described as a shudder. GM tried several different transmission fluids. I think they finally got it fixed but not sure. Might want to do some research on it.
