Is GM using a synthetic in their differential?

I do believe so. I just recently heard that it is outsourced to Mobil 1.

"Clicking" noise from the wheels on the C7 Corvette? Here's the easy fix.

jayno20 12-11-2019 03:58 PM

Definitely a different one here, but felt I should share with you guys... A Corvette ZR1 owner reviews a Mustang GT350. 🤔

jayno20 12-24-2019 12:49 AM

In depth comparison between the C7 Corvette Grand Sport and the 2020 Toyota Supra. The results may surprise you.

C7 Corvette ZR1 on the dyno before and after a Soler Performance ported throttle body.

jayno20 01-07-2020 05:55 PM

The 2nd part of the Corvette ZR1 on the dyno to test out the ported throttle body. Is it worth it?

Not exactly Corvette content today, but a fun video showing my wife how to drive a manual... In a Mustang https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...illy_nilly.gif

An interesting way to protect the seats in your C7 Corvette while adding some color to your interior!

jayno20 02-02-2020 10:43 PM

Change up your C7 Corvette interior the OEM way. Seat belt install HOW-TO.

jayno20 03-03-2020 06:56 PM

Want to protect your expensive front splitter? This is one of the easier and cheaper ways to do so.

73shark 03-04-2020 09:53 AM

The C8 front-end lift option will eliminate the need for these. ;)
Have a TPW for your C8?

The front end lift will help with this, but nothing really eliminates the need all together. There is never a bad reason to have additional protection just in case! I do have a TPW! I want to keep it a surprise on the channel but let's just say it's coming soon! ;)

jayno20 03-10-2020 03:14 PM

XPEL. The best way to protect your car.

73shark 03-10-2020 03:24 PM

FWIW, I had a C8 section set up on the forum if you want to post C8 relevant stuff there.

Excellent! Will do! :)

Improve your manual driving experience by adding an MGW shifter. Night and day difference.

Taking my ZR1 back to the dealership...

73shark 04-01-2020 10:24 AM

I had to use ESP Mobil 1 in my Sprinter diesel and I know how expensive it was even with a rebate. And it used 13 quarts. I kind of cringed when I saw him pour the oil in and then immediately cap it and get another one. I suspect with 10 quarts if you let them drain you'd probably pick up close to another 1/4 quart.
Are you keeping your ZR1 when your C8 finally comes in?

Yes I am keeping my ZR1 as well. He was moving a little fast for my liking, but at the end of the day I still had the right amount of oil in there so we're all good.

73shark 04-01-2020 10:54 AM

It wasn't that I didn't think you had enough oil, it was just that I am so tight that I hate to throw a dollar's worth of oil away.;)

I agree. If it's on my dime I definitely would let it drain out longer!

Easy fix for "throttle lag"

73shark 04-03-2020 02:59 PM

If the controller works when the car is on cruise, that would be a good way to get hard data without having to rely on holding your foot steady.

It doesn't. It holds a certain speed not a certain spot on the accelerator pedal.

73shark 04-04-2020 10:19 AM

Got it. Forgot about that. Back in the day it used to hold the accelerator to maintain the speed.

jayno20 04-08-2020 01:57 PM

New wheels for the ZR1? Let me know what your thoughts are. 🤔

jayno20 04-17-2020 11:21 PM

I got pulled over in the ZR1 🤦‍♂️

73shark 04-18-2020 01:04 PM

Can't remember if you have a Valentine One or not. You were lucky. I only got off once and that was back in the 70s when I was drag racing a built Mustang up an on ramp.

I have an Escort Passport Max II. It didn't go off because he didn't actually have a gun set up yet. If he had, I would not have gotten off so easily.

Were they putting the window tint on the C7, that was there while you were getting your film corrected, on the outside of the glass?

The reason I asked was because I watched another video today of Garner Speed 252 where they look like they were putting his tint on the outside of the glass.

They put it on the outside, heat it up to shrink it to fit the glass perfectly, and then put it on inside.

73shark 04-18-2020 11:51 PM

That's a lot different than the film I tried to use years ago. I thought about 10 years ago they actually cut the film with a machine similar to what's making your black bow tie tapes.

They still do it that way, but after it's cut they shrink it so when it gets applied to the inside the curvature of the glass is already "baked" into the film.

The clicking sound from the wheels returned on the C7 Corvette ZR1 🤦‍♂️

jayno20 04-28-2020 01:22 PM

I've waited a long time for this custom piece on the C7 Corvette ZR1 and I LOVE it!

I hope that permanently stops the clicking but try as hard as I could, I couldn't figure out how there could be any clicking caused by the interface between the hub and the wheel. More interesting was what seemed to be a stator ring inside the wheel itself. I know there's something similar that's contained in the hub that is used by the ABS and other speed sensing items.

I don't think it's the mating surfaces, I am almost 100% sure it's that hub ring. The rust is almost definitely what is causing the issue but aside from anti-seize I can't think of anything else to stop it.

73shark 04-30-2020 12:46 AM

Not sure if it matters and you may know this but anti-sieze is conductive.
