Default Vette order

Yeah, I figured as much when I placed the order. But for some unknown reasons Stingray Chevrolet is telling me that alot of things and orders are gonna change as soon as GM announce the Z06 model... either way I'm ok with it.

That's only a few weeks away. I understand some of the big dealers are actually keeping two lists. One for the Stingray and one for the Z06.

Exactly... I think Stingray is one of the top 10 for Corvette volume, and what they're doing is for anyone that wants to change their order they put them also on a different list where their position for the original C8 carries over. Or for another $500 refundable deposit will but them on the other list... probably I would just leave my position where it is and get on the other list for a refundable 500 deposit, win win, I've heard something close to 100k for a base Z06.

I think I'll take a pass on it because even if it was similarly priced, I don't think I would ever want to put up with the the ride. Even with the mag ride, I understand previous editions rode pretty stiff. Which is fine for people that want to track their car. I doubt I'll ever go beyond an autoX in mine. Plus I still have my '73 to autoX.

I'm with you on the ride issue, I haven't been on a track since Sebring and that was 2004, at my age I need all the comfort and support of a decent driver with great but NOT overbearing sport seats. You're a great moderator.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Started out on the Chevrolet forum when it was almost dying on the vine. They managed to get a few of us as moderators and we managed to treat people right and have rebuilt it to where it's a lot better than it was in the 2000s.

This forum was almost non-existent when they put me over here and I don't think it's improved as much as the Chevrolet forum but I believe the data would probably show that it's better now than it was a few years ago. Just need a few people that have knowledge on the years after c3. My modicum of expertise is really C2 and C3 years. If you have any interest, I could probably get you on as a another moderator. 🤔

Please don't throw me out, I bleed FOMOCO blue. The only experience I've ever had with a corvette was a hugh mistake, I was working at a Chevrolet store in PA... we had a red drop top and this was a 1984 model.... as even I know they didn't produce a 1983 model... and after as little as 500 miles I realized that I had made a mistake, quality control was non existence across domestic brands. So after 6 months I bought a 1985 300ZX TURBO, I eventually bought a 1989 Camaro that I had ordered... that was better than the 1984 vette. Even while working at GM dealers I always had at least 2 sometimes 4 1967 thru 1972 mustangs. Those days of taking 2 to 5 years to restore mustangs are decades ago. So now I have a Cadillac XTS, a Mercedes Benz SL450 and a Indian challenger motorcycle, im drawn to the C8 for obvious reasons I wish GM had done this years ago, horsepower is NOTHING when it surpasses traction. Anyway, my knowledge of automobiles knowledge is more Ford than Chevrolet. I have time... but not the knowledge that I would need to be a moderator, I'm honestly humbled to even be asked.

Oh boy.... maybe I shouldn't have mentioned my FOMOCO blue blood, I can hear crickets.. lol. Whats your opinion on ceramic coats... my SL450 has it and bugs and dirt really do just slide off the surface, done by a detail shop company that works after hours at the Mercedes Benz dealership. From my experience with selling upgrades to customers when I sold cars... I've never been a big fan... but 4 years old and I can appreciate the ceramic coatings that are available today.
