Radiator Grill Guard
#2
Welcome to the forums! No replies I`m surprised. I don`t have a C-8 but from what I have read they say yes grill guards are a very good idea to protect the (soft) aluminium radiators from debris, Of the things the put on these cars i`m suprised its not a standard item. There`s a lot of unseen debris out there, I would buy grill Guards! My opinion.. Enjoy your Ride!!

Jetman2023: Welcome to the forum. Sorry I somehow missed this last summer. I believe that Chevrolet has actually approved one of the aftermarket grill guards. And it probably means that they actually did some track testing to see if it had any effect on temperatures.
I'm going to look into fabricating my own using gutter guard mesh. The hard part is finding a way to attach them. Some of them just use zip ties.

Hi Jetman2023, I just noticed the date of your post (8/3/22) so this news is probably not relevant anymore. I just saw your title and since I just watched a you tube video on a new way of installing the radiator grill guards I thought it might be of interest to somebody, if not you.
The title of the you tube video is from "Brink of Speed". EASIEST & BEST 2022 C8 Corvette Radiator Protection BEHIND the GRILL Install.
From what I gather some of the other versions of the R.G,G. was they would block the Frunk button. This new method does not. (I am not sure if the 2023, 2024 has the same number of screws & location as the 2022 but I would assume so. (But you know what they say about assumptions!
First of all, I do not profess to know anything about the new corvettes (my last was a 2014 stingray). There may be newer videos out there but even I understood the process and could possibly follow the installation process they provided. (Although I do not have the Lift System "Mark" has in his garage but the video was very clear and easy to understand and follow. (I am not sure which radiator grill guards are the better choice; the aluminum or the ABS Plastic. I think they both sell for $119.00. at the Radiator Grill Store. Not sure about Shipping/handling/tax, etc.
p.s. I think I am at stage 3000 or 3300 (Scheduled for Production), for my new C8. In any case I guess I have to sell my 2022 Audi A5 with less than 6,500 mi. to help pay for the hardtop convertible. This will be my 4th Corvette. First was when I was a senior in college (a 1960 rag top), 2nd a C6 (2007) then the C7 (2014) And now a hardtop convertible I have always wanted. Never thought it was going to be a Corvette.
