My c-5 coulmn locked up. GM says it was a re-call, but it's expired. I didn't think safety recalls ever expired. How do I fix it?

 

There is a columnlock bypass kit from CORVETTES OF HOUSTON. Call your state's consumer protection agency and see what the policy for a recall is

 

If you provide your VIN number, or the last 8 digits of it, I can check your warranty history and find out what the recall status is. Most cars that have a problem after the recall are taken care of by GM.

If not "VETTE magazine" August 2008 Volume 32 No.8 has 4 page article on step by step instruction on fixing this problem. First try your dealer, if not get copy of magazine.
