Default louder exhaust note

I recently bought a '06 C6 vette. Someone told me at the dealer that to get a louder sound out of the exhaust, that there is a "flap" in the exhaust system which can be bypassed by unplugging the fuse. Is there any truth in this? If so, I would appreciate some tips on the procedure.

Default RE: louder exhaust note

Maybe on the ZO6, which has a two-flow exhaust (under some circumstances, like full throttle, ports open to bypass part of the muffler system). I do not think the standaredvette has this, though. As for the ZO6, if the ZO6's system is like the similar system (Porsche Sport Exhaust, which does the same thing - offering a loud and a quiet mode) on my Porsche, pulling the fuse shuts the port so it is quiet, not opens in. I would expect GM did the same thing -- made the "fail safe" option if power fails to shut the ports and be quiet.
