Mobil One in a 91...
Kind of rhymes doesn't it!
I know that Chevrolet went to it in the 92's but does anyone use it in the 91? What weight? 5w30?
Inquiring minds and all that.
As always, thanks in advance gentle people.
Yep, I read the thread about dino vs: synthetic. I guess my question is more the viscosity.

RE: Mobil One in a 91...
I started using Mobil 1 in my 1990 Corvette last year (about 140K miles on the car). Primarily because synthetic oil runs cooler and with thesummer heat and stop and go traffic in Houston, TX I figured I needed all the help I could get. However, the car has developed oil leaks. I've been told that the leaks were already there but just not as bad. Apparently, synthetic oil has an affinity for metal and will creep into smaller places that conventional oil and very small leaks suddenly become very big leaks...
I also put Mobil 1 in my 1979 Corvette but it only has 29K miles on it and I haven't seen any signs of oil leaks yet.
I'm not sure, given my luck with leaks, that if I had it do over again that I'd switch to synthetic oil. It's probably a different situation if you start off with synthetic in a brand new car but switching to synthetic in a car with 100K plus miles probably isn't a good idea.
BTW, I've run both 5W30 and 10W30 in my 1990 Corvette and believe I recently saw Mobil 1 "for older cars" on the counter at Wal-Mart that was 10W40.
