They are both OHV, OverHead Valve engines. SFI is sequential fuel injection. In SFI, each injector "squirts" at the right time, instead of all injectors spraying and "buffering" a load of gas for then the valves open.

Both have an OHV (overhead valve) engine, and both have SFI (sequential fuel injection). You just read incomplete data about each, one write up mentioned the OHVs but not the SFI, and the other not mentioningOHVs but mentioning the SFI. The engines are virtually identical cam-in-block 346 cubic inch engines - same aluminum block, same heads, same bore and stroke, and 99% of the parts being interchangeable, having minor differences in intake manifold and EGR, etc., worth about 5 HP and a few minor improvements from one year to the next (the alternator bracket in the 2000 model had a U-shaped body, the 2004's has a box section body for greater strength, etc.

I think the person giving you all this misinformation needs to pay more attention to details. OHV means overhead valves: just about every modern engine, probably 99.999995% of all combustion engines made in the world, use OHV designs and have for decades. It is an old design, but still current because nothing works better. Alternatives are value in block or sleeve valves, neither of which has been used in automobiles since, oh, maybe the late 40s (sleeve valves are still used is some monstrous low RPM marine diesels).

OHC means something completely different: overhead cams (either simgle overhead cam - SOHC or double overhead cam - DOHC). All OHC engines are OHV but not all OHV valve engines are OHC -- in fact the 'vette's engine is cam-in-block, not OHC. It does have SFI, which is better than PFI (port fuel injection) and is somewhat better than carburation, but not quite as good as DFI (direct fuel injection).
