Thanks pg. That's what I thought, 70-74. I wasn't sure though.
Hopefully my call to Summit will solve this mystery.

Hi Starship, I looked thru some catalogs today, not very many even offer the small block pans. I looked at the 74 AIM and that had only small block info and nothing about the 454 pan.
If Summit didn't have it, you could try a "Chevy" dealer or your friends at the "Corvette Junk Yard",
I'll continue to hunt, PG

Hey Dave, the truck 454 used a 7 quart oil pan, I don't have first hand experience with the bigblock in the Vette but the specs say it was 5 quarts so that tells me the pan was not common between the two. I've done some fabrication on small block pans with good results, you could do the same if you can't find the correct one-good luck bro.

Hey Bros,
I really appreciate the help.
I talked to the Summit tech line today, waist of time. I know more about what's what than they do. [&o]
I'm goin' down to their store, and ask them to show me a 454 pan from a 70 thru 74 Vette. I'll be takin' measurements in hand and will get this thing solved. I shouldn't hav'ta mod the existing pan. I can though, if I absolutely hav'ta. Ain't no step for a stepper.
