where is this part from
I was driving yesterday down the road and suddenly heard a scraping sound coming from the front of my car. It scraped a few times then fell off in the road. businessvillage.com/1999_corvette/DSC00724.jpg AND businessvillage.com/1999_corvette/DSC00725.jpg Looks like a 12 gauge bracket 10 3/8 inches long. the bottom is is bent and 1 1/2 inches long. Bracket is 1 inch wide and has slotted hole at each end. Cant figure out where it came from? Any help would be appreciated.

Can you see any areas that are cleaner than the rest where it might have been attached? Any empty holes?
Not familiar w/ the C5 but if you post your question in the C5 section, might find someone who knows.
