Default A "New" Corvette Owner

Well, as I near the Big Four-Oh birthday, I decided I had to act. It was either a 19 year old mistress or a corvette. I chose the corvette! Actually, I originally was looking for a 06 GTO for a present to myself for returning from Iraq with all bodyparts intact. I really like them alot. Especially the Black with red leather interior. So going from dealer to dealer and not really finding the price I wanted, I delayed. During this timeframe I kept driving by 3 corvettes in the lemon lot. One was a very worn out 84, the other was a mildly pimped out 97, and the other was a bone stock 96.

After looking at all three and even talking to the owners of the 97 (jet black) and test driving the 96 (silver), I ended up buying the 96 for $9.5. It is in immaculate condition. I can hardly believe it is 10 years old, except for the weather stripping! Also, by getting the corvette, it frees up more money for another motorcycle.

This is my first corvette and I really love it. I am a motorcycle guy at heart (hayabusa and TL1000R) so I enjoy speed and cornering. The corvette definitely can get up to speed and corner!

I'm looking forward to learning more about my car and corvettes in general from this forum!

Welcome to the forums. I was actually going to buy a C4 at first but at the last minute switched over to the C5.
