Default Engine identification

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum. I have this 283 engine that is supposed to be out of a 64 corvette. I cannot find any info on this i.d. number stamped on the front pad of the engine. Does anyone know what this engine is? Thanks for any help.

This is the i.d. number at the front of the block. Anyone have any info on this?

thanks. I'm hoping someone can decipher that. I've looked everywhere I can think of to find that i.d. Even checked in Canada.

Most likely that was an over the counter replacement engine. Likely generic...

That would explain why I can't find it listed anywhere. I didn't think of that. I appreciate the help! Thank you.
